The Fallen.

Project 02

Destroying What Sustains Us

It’s been sited that every year 20* million trees get cut down to make clothes.

This Creative Awareness Project, was envisioned to connect people back to the everyday custodians of nature - trees, and emphasise how nothing is an exception to the interlinked web of life on Earth.

We destroy what sustains us, to sustain us, until it can no longer.

Natural fibres aren’t the problem, extracting beyond Earth’s ability to replenish is. When we deplete, harm & disrespect nature we deplete, harm & disrespect ourselves.

The fibre may be natural but the journey it takes is often not. Toxic chemical treatments used to process, bleach & dye these materials don’t disappear. At the end of life they return to the soil and water systems that grew them

Forests, the jungle and nature give abundantly. One one condition - we take at a rate in which it can replenish, not at the rate in which we can consume.

How can we consider the forest, jungle & trees in our shopping carts and design rooms?

Pause, investigate, ask, consider, buy/make, honour.
